Volunteers

ILGRA is in need of Volunteers for Windy City Rodeo. If you are interested in Volunteering, please send an email with your contact information to - volunteers.ilgra@gmail.com  

Timers
 
They time the same events both days, using stopwatches then they give their times to the Scorekeeper and do not clear until the Scorekeeper says to clear the watches. They are required to adhere to the official’s dress code, including cowboy hat and long sleeve shirt and wear a yellow timing vest when they are timing.
 
Chutes:
The Chutes will be working with livestock in and around the arena (this is a two day commitment).
 
Chutes/Arena Crew:

The Arena Crew may be working with small livestock in and around the arena in the performance of setting up the arena for events (this a two day commitment).

 

Gate:
The gate volunteers are responsible for checking ID’s and wrist banding for all whom are of the age of 21 for consumption of Adult Beverages and for working the primary entrance to the Rodeo grounds selling general admission tickets, ensuring proper count of all persons entering the Rodeo grounds. They also ensure NO ALCOHOL leaves the grounds.
 
Parking:
The Parking Lot Volunteers ensure that all vehicles park in a manner that allows free and clear access to all vehicles in and out of the parking area.
 
Script Tickets:
The Script Ticket Volunteers are responsible for selling script tickets and ensuring the proper amount of money is received and change given. 
 
Security:
The Security Volunteers are there to ensure the public does not enter restricted areas and allows the passage of acceptable persons into restricted areas.
 
Food Booth
Food Booth Volunteers will be working in the capacity of fast food service personnel. Their duties would include up to but not limited to food preparation, cooking food on a propane grill, maintain a clean and sanitary work area. In addition, the Food Booth Volunteers will be responsible for taking orders and handing out the food. The Food Booth Volunteers must be able to correctly count script tickets.
